Bob Rohda farmed most of his life

Memorial services for Robert “Bob” Rohda, 64, of Mobridge were held Friday, March 30, 2012, at Kesling Funeral Home in Mobridge.

Military honors will be provided by Parker-Browder American Legion Post #4 of Mobridge.

Robert passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at the Mobridge Regional Hospital.

 Robert Rohda was born Sept. 14, 1947, in Stillwater, Minn., to Earl and Katherine (Parkhill) Rohda.
    
He entered the United States Army on Nov. 7, 1966 and was honorably discharged on Nov. 6, 1968.

Robert farmed for most of his life in Wisconsin, raising hogs, and had his own painting business.

He moved to Sheridan, Wyo., in 2001 to open an Amish Furniture Store in Buffalo, Wyo., where he ran the store for several years.

Robert married Dorothy McCurdy in July 2005 in Sheridan.

He worked for the Sheridan VAMC as a Social Service officer, retiring in 2009.

Robert was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.

Robert is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Mobridge; two sons, Dylan Rohda of Rosemount, Minn., and Peter Mortel of Missoula, Mont.; daughter, Elizabeth Lukas of Virginia; sister, Elaine Carlson of Stillwater; and his faithful dog Tripod.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Harvey.
