Rose Wolf of Java dies at 84


Funeral services for Rose Wolf, 84, of Java were held Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Selby.

Burial was in the Java Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge.

Rose passed away Friday, May 11, 2012 at Mobridge Regional Hospital.

Rose Helen Bichler was born on June 26, 1927, to George and Theresa (Holzer) Bichler in the Krassna Area in Emmons County, N.D. Rose married Harold Wolf on Sept. 26, 1947 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Strasburg, N.D. Harold and Rose lived and farmed on a farm northwest of Java until retiring to Selby in 2004. Rose entered the Selby Good Samaritan Center in October of 2010.

Glad to have shared her life is her husband of 62 years, Harold; son, LeLand Wolf of St. Paul, Minn.; two daughters, Deb (Jim) Vander Vorst of Westfield, N.D., and Sheila Highland and fiancé Glenn Bryant of Spearfish; six grandchildren, Shannon (Vaughn) Dosko, Krista Highland, Maria Highland, Dustin (Nicole) Vander Vorst, Holly (Brett) Nedens and Colin Highland; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Deloris Bichler.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Ben, Jake, Markus and George Bichler; four sisters, Margaret Schreiner, Katherine Derzab, Mary Senger and Helen Weisbeck; and one granddaughter, Amy Wolf.

Casket bearers were Holly Nedens, Marie Highland, Dustin Vander Vorst, and Colin Highland.

Honorary bearers were Lucy Swenson, Esther Goetz, Alvina  Affolter, the staff of the Selby Good Samaritan Center and all family and friends.
