Lends His Horse wins distance titles

Dysan Lends His Horse of Cheyenne-Eagle Butte capped an outstanding career by winning the 1600 and 3200-meter titles at the State Track and Field Meet in Spearfish and Rapid City over the weekends.

Lends His Horse won the 3200-meter title on Friday in Spearfish, where he ran to a winning time of 9:48.61. Runner-up Jalen Snaza of Milbank crossed the finish line nearly seven seconds later at 9:55.14.

He won the 1600-meter title on Saturday in Rapid City with a championship time of 4:29.52. Donovan Brother of All of Winner (third in the 3200) came in second at 4:31.96.

Lends His Horse finishes his career as a three-time state champion. He won the 1600-meter title at the 2011 state meet.
Destiny Beautiful Bald Eagle earned a trip to the medal stand with a seventh-place finish in the 1600. Beautiful Bald Eagle ran a 5:31.34.
