Lady Tigers romp Eureka-Bowdle 3-0 for third straight victory
The Lady Tigers put the number 3 to good work on Tuesday. In the morning, they moved up to being the number 3 ranked team in the Class A polls. In the evening they raised their record to 3-0 with a 3-0 win over Eureka-Bowdle in Eureka.
Mobridge-Pollock was in full control the entire match in their first road outing of the young season. The Lady Tigers beat the Patriots 25-11, 25-14, 25-16.
Callie Slater had perfect numbers in setting and serving. She was 61 of 61 setting with all 25 of the team’s assists and 16 of 16 serving with a match-leading six aces at the service line. Aundrea Kramer backed up the serving with a 15 of 16, three-ace match. Kady Pinney led hitting with 20 of 25 and 13 kills. Ariel Bieber had eight successful hits and all hit the floor on the other side of the net for kills. Kayleigh Henderson stuffed a few Eureka-Bowdle shots and registered five blocks. Maranda Wagner and Ellie Rabenberg handled the defensive chores, combining for 15 digs.
Theresa Kolar led Eureka-Bowdle with 11 of 11 serving, 15 digs and a block. Sierra Stotz and Alexis Beck had two kills each. Beck had three blocks. Courtney Weber had a team-high six assists. Sierra Lutz led all defenders with 16 digs.
The Lady Tigers have a busy three-day stretch coming. On Saturday they will try to defend their title at the Mobridge-Pollock Invitational Volleyball Tournament. The girls head east on Monday to square off against Class B’s fifth-ranked Herreid-Selby Area Wolverines and Tuesday return to Mobridge-Pollock High School Gymnasium to host Groton Area
