Eugene Aman serives held at Black Hills National Cemetery
Services and burial for Eugene Aman, 95, of Mobridge, and his wife Mary’s cremated remains will be held Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at 9:30 a.m., at Black Hills National Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge.
Eugene passed away Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at the Selby Good Samaritan Center.
Eugene was born May 17, 1917, to Gottlieb and Emma (Hieb) Aman at Hosmer. He entered the U.S. Army on Feb., 26, 1942, and was honorably discharged on Sept. 15, 1943.
He was united in marriage with Mary Laemmle on Aug. 20, 1943, in the Army chapel at Modesto, Calif.
The couple then moved to McLaughlin where Eugene worked for the city. In 1952, the couple bought and managed the Elkhorn Hotel until 1963.
Eugene was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in McLaughlin.
In 1992, they moved to Mobridge where they were members of Trinity Lutheran Church. They were also active in the Senior Citizens and the Eagles Lodge.
