Cancer takes Elizabeth Duncan


Elizabeth (Keller) Duncan, daughter of Thomas Keller and Ann McCabe Keller, lost her 10-year battle with sarcoma, Saturday, Jan. 21, in Watertown.Elizabeth was born Feb. 23, 1965, in Scottsbluff, Neb., to Thomas and Ann. She was the oldest of three children, followed by brothers Richard and Anthony. She was the grand-daughter of the late Louis and Elizabeth Keller of Timber Lake.

She married Dino Treantis in 1987, but met and married the love of her life, Kenneth Duncan in Pima, Ariz., in 1994.

She met Kenneth at the Christ for Nations School in Dallas, Texas, where she was studying the ministry.

Together she and Ken raised his three daughters Chrystall, and twins, Jennifer and Jessica in Colorado, where they also ran a church camp.

Later, they moved to Canyon City, Colo., where Elizabeth was a stay-at-home mom, and enjoyed raising the three girls.

In 2002 the family moved to Mobridge where she worked for the Mobridge Tribune, before the family moved onto Watertown.

She studied nursing and received her licensed practical nurse designation before she was disabled by her disease.

She loved working in medicine and especially helping her brother Rick study to become a registered nurse.

Elizabeth also loved spending time with her nieces and nephews, Brittny, Christopher, Zachary and Bradley Keller, children of her brother Tony and his wife, Penny of Mobridge.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband and three step-daughters; dad, Thomas and his wife, Joley of Mobridge; her mother Anna of Auroura, Colo.; aunt Delphine (Gary) Stueck, uncles George (Anna) Keller; Jim (Jackie) Keller; and Mary (Ed) Schweitzer of Mobridge and numerous other relatives in South Dakota and Colorado.
