Leona Jensen dies in Blackhawk
Leona Maria Jensen, 65, of Blackhawk, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Memorial services were held Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis with Fr. Steve Biegler officiating.
Inurnment followed at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
Leona was born April 6, 1947, in Selfridge, N.D. She was raised and attended school in McIntosh. She attended Bernal Hairstyling College in Bismarck, N.D., and worked as a hairdresser for many years. She owned her own business in McIntosh for eight years. She moved to Rapid City in 2007 and worked at Walmart.
Survivors include her husband, David Jensen of Blackhawk; two sons, Joe (Jami) Campbell of Sterling Colo., and Jeff Campbell of Atwood, Colo.; two daughters, Leah (Larry) Jung of Isabel and Lori (Kelly) Unruh of Hebron, N.D.; seven grandchildren, Kaci and Derrick Campbell, Jordan and Chance Campbell, LaNay Jung, and Kane and Kanyon Unruh; five sisters, Helen Walters of Aurora, Colo., Frances (Paul) Hall of Cleveland, Ga., Regina (Ed) Block of McIntosh, Rose Huber of White Hall, Ariz., and Theresa (Gene) Glines of McIntosh; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Angeline Schneider; brother, Jack; sister, Josephine; paternal and maternal grandparents; and brother-in-law, Steve Walter.
