The Tiger Educational Foundation (TEF) will award up to nine $1,000 scholarships in 2013 to local graduating seniors who plan to enroll in a full-time graduate course of study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational/technical school.
Applications are available from MPHS guidance counselor Jolaine Bain or the TEF website, www.tigereducationalfoundation.com. Click on the link for scholarship application forms. Completed applications must be typed and returned to Bain no later than March 22.
Scholarship selections will be based on academic excellence, extra-curricular activities, leadership capability and volunteer community involvement. Numbers are assigned to the applications to provide anonymity and the board uses a scoring system to tally each entry.
Winners will be announced in May at the annual high school awards day.
