TEF scholarship applications have March 22 deadline

The Tiger Educational Foundation (TEF) voted to award up to nine $1,000 scholarships this spring when the board met Monday, Jan. 14, at Grace Fellowship Hall of the United Congregational Church.
Application forms are available from Jolaine Bain, school guidance counselor, or on line at www.tigereducationalfoundation.com.  Click on the link for forms.  All applications must be typed. Entries are due to Bain no later than March 22.
Scholarships, overall, are awarded based on academic excellence, extra-curricular activities, leadership capability and volunteer community service. Any graduating senior from MPHS is eligible to apply and is encouraged to do so.
Treasurer Laurie Bauer reported the checking account has a balance of $11,535.46, the Paypal account is at $7,677.05, and the investment account is $45,863.56, for a total of $65,076.07.  Membership in the South Dakota Community Fund (SDCF) is at $155,404.08.
The board voted by consensus to award an undergraduate grant of $50 to Jesse Roshau, daughter of Joe and Heidi Roshau.  She is in the eighth grade and participated in the Junior Honors Choir in Rapid City on Jan. 19.
Members also approved to pay the registration fee for Shawna Madison, who will be participating in the ACDA National Women’s Honors Choir March 13 through 16 in Dallas, Texas. Shawna is a junior and the daughter of Shawn and Jodi Madison.
