Winfield Kills Crow enjoyed friends and family


Winfield B. (Little Dog) Kills Crow, 36, of Little Eagle, entered the spirit world Jan. 26, 2013, in Mobridge.
Winfield was born Nov. 19, 1976, in Ft. Yates, N.D., to Norman Little Dog Jr. and Diane Kills Crow. He attended grade school in Little Eagle. He went on to high school in numerous places such as Ft. Yates and Wakpala and graduated from Flandreau on Jan. 16, 1998.
Later on in his life, after graduation, he excelled in basketball all over with the “Takojas” basketball team, winning awards such as all-tourney and MVP.
He furthered his education from 2003 to 2005 at United Tribes Technical College, taking up carpentry.
Winfield enjoyed doing many things outdoors such as playing basketball with many friends, going fishing, throwing horseshoes with his relatives and riding bike. He also enjoyed playing bingo, being at the casino visiting with friends and family every chance he got. He loved watching NBA basketball and loved his team the Boston Celtics. He was a very kind-hearted man who was raised by his favorite grandmother, Delma, and his special aunt, Bernadine Little Dog. Winfield was good to all who knew him and would never want to hurt anybody’s feelings.
Winfield is survived by his three daughters and one son, Jalyn and Jordan (Frazier) Little Dog of Parker, Ariz., Shania (Kapayou) Little Dog of Tama, Iowa, and Bryson (Long Feather) Kills Crow of Little Eagle; his aunts, Elizabeth, Jackie and Bernadine Little Dog, all of Little Eagle; his longtime companion, Muriel Long Feather; his brothers, Kenneth Chasing Hawk of Fargo, N.D., and Jonathon “Finners” Chasing Hawk of Ft. Yates; his sisters, Tiffany (Henry) Red Legs of Little Eagle, Marjorie (Marcellus) Red Tomahawk of Cannonball, N.D., Ernestine (Duane) Chasing Hawk of Ft. Yates, Tonia (K.C.) Chasing Hawk and Jessica (Shawn) Chasing Hawk, both of McLaughlin. He is survived by many cousins he took as his hunka sisters and brothers, Brenna Little Dog, Pamela Yellow Earrings, DeAndra (Arthur), LyAnne, Dace Bobtail Bear, John (Cissy) Foster, Renae (Aljoe) Silk, Joanne Foster, Carrie (Adrian) Kills Crow Indian, Johnna Foster, Sandra (Lance) Plenty Chief, Sara Chasing Hawk, Susan (Joe) Holstein, Melissa and Titus Bobtail Bear Jr., Milton, Natalie, Allison, Katie, Joshua, Malleri and Matthew Roberts, Shannon Little Dog, Danielle and Brady Bobtail Bear, Elizabeth “Dude” Little Dog, Malachi and Jackson Howard, Burt, Brad, Rosie and Hart Little Dog, Larissa Iron Cloud, Mike and Lloyd Kills Crow, Jackie and Kara Logg, Jennifer, Cheyenne, Ira and Inyan Weasel, Hunka Dad Jasper Iron Cloud, Hunka Grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Iron Cloud. He will be deeply missed by his stepchildren who lived with him for many years, Ashley (Nathan along with their two little ones Jordan and Jayzen), Allison, Erik and Amber.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman Little Dog Jr. and Diane Kills Crow; maternal grandparents, Arnold and Rachel (Foster) Kills Crow; paternal grandparents, Norman and Delma (Black Fox) Little Dog; sisters, Loretta Kills Crow and Brooke Little Dog; aunts, Ardis (Kills Crow) Logg, Mary Rose (Kills Crow) Weasel, Sybil (Little Dog) Foster, Laverne (Little Dog) Picotte, and Kathleen (Little Dog) Roberts; and nephew, Aartell Taken Alive-Bobtail Bear.
