KATIE ZERR: They need to know what you want

Share

Our nation and state are facing important issues that will impact our lives for many generations. We need to be a part of that process.

With a presidential election on the horizon and country still in the grips of an economic crisis, residents need to let their voices be heard.

With the Congress at a virtual standstill because of party line bickering, it is more important than ever to let them know their constituents are unhappy with their work.

On the state level, laws are being debated that concern the daily lives of South Dakotans.

There are common sense bills that need to be passed in order for our laws to keep with technology and frivolous legislation that is geared toward the special interest groups and may not be in the best interest of South Dakotans.

We need to know how our representatives vote and let them know how we expect them to represent us.

Issues such as spending on education, prosecution limits on some rape cases, immunity to underage drinkers in times of emergencies and a ban on texting and driving are a few hot button issues in Pierre.

Following is the contact information for our Congressional delegation and for the District 23 representatives.

It is published for your convenience in hopes that you will contact those who are your voice in national and state issues.
