KARLA BIEBER: Downloadable books available soon

Times change but so do we. The A. H. Brown Library will soon offer audiobooks and electronic books for download. The library has joined S.D. Titles to Go powered by OverDrive. S.D. Titles to Go is a collaborative, coordinated by the S.D. State Library where members purchase a shared collection of downloadable ebooks and audiobooks for their patrons’ use.

The downloadable audiobooks and ebooks are available in all the genres that our patrons enjoy, including children’s titles and young adult titles. With a valid A. H. Brown Library card patrons will be able to download up to three items at a time. Check out periods vary by title. Through our website (www.ahbrownlibrary.org) from your home computer, material can be burned to a CD or transferred to a portable device, or they can be downloaded directly to your personal device if compatible. When the checkout period is over, the materials are automatically returned and deleted. Downloadable material cannot be renewed but can be checked out again if there is not a waiting list. If the material you want is not available, you can place it on hold. When it become available, an email will be sent notifying you.
