Four lucky Mobridge residents are celebrating a lottery win as they hold the winning $40,553 jackpot ticket in Wednesday’s Dakota Cash drawing.

The family of Robert and his wife Cheryl Maisch, Arlo Maisch and their sister, Connie Lutz, won the money with a ticket Cheryl purchased . They claimed their $40,553 Dakota Cash jackpot prize on Monday, Jan. 30 at the Pierre Lottery office.

Since 1992 the family has had a pact to split any lotto jackpot any of them win among the four of them. The winning ticket that finally allowed them to do that was purchased at Gas ‘N Goodies on Main Street in Mobridge. The store will get a $2,027.65 bonus for the sale.

The odds of winning the jackpot are one in about 325,000. Dakota Cash is played only in South Dakota.
