John Hohl worked for United Airlines
Mass of Christian Burial for John Hohl, 78, of Mobridge, was held Saturday, April 6, 2013, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Burial was in Mobridge City Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge.
John passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Mobridge Regional Hospital.
John Richard Hohl was born on June 25, 1934, in Mobridge to Joseph and Ruth (Nickisch) Hohl. The family lived in Bowman, N.D., for a few years in the early 1940s. In 1944 they moved back to the Mobridge area where they lived at Camp Pontis, which was the railroad water plant station.
John attended Mobridge schools, graduating from Mobridge High School in 1952. He served two years in the United States Army. After returning from the Army, John moved to California, where he worked at the Chevrolet assembly plant. He later worked for United Airlines as a ramp serviceman for 40 years.
John moved back to Mobridge to be near his family and friends in 2008. He had resided at Golden LivingCenter for the past two years.
John is survived by his sister Ruth (Ted) Anderson; sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Hohl; brother-in-law, Jim (Donna) Steinwand; and 14 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Joe, three sisters, a nephew and two brothers-in-law.
