Stotz leads Eureka-Bowdle at Region 3B meet

Sierra Stotz added three gold medals to her collection at the Region 3B Track and Field Meet in Gettysburg on Thursday.
Stotz won two individual events and ran with a region-winning relay team. She sprinted her way to the 100-meter dash in 12.5 seconds and the 200-meter dash in 26.7 seconds. Stotz teamed with Samantha Raile, Leah Wipf and Courtney Weber to win the medley relay at 4:35.9. Stotz added a second-place finish in the long jump. Raile will also compete in the long jump at state as she qualified during the regular season. Alternates Erin Hanson and Destinee Regula will join the squad in Sioux Falls.
Josh Raile won the long jump and earned state qualification in his third event. Raile went 19 feet to win his region crown. He will also compete in the triple jump and pole vault this weekend. Also pole vaulting will be Adam Kappes and Kasey Wipf.
Brandon Beutler and Jacob Lux joined Wipf and Kappes for second place in the medley relay. Beutler will run an individual event after taking second in the 200. Also heading to Sioux Falls will be alternates Cole Kappenman and Cameron Lux.
