Mass of Christian Burial for Pauline Schweitzer, 90, of Pierre and formerly of Timber Lake, was held Friday, July 19, 2013, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Timber Lake.
Burial was in the Timber Lake Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge.
Pauline passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at Golden LivingCenter in Pierre.
Pauline Eva Cousins was born Sept. 29, 1922, in Milo, Maine, to Guy and Alice (Fudge) Cousins. She married John Schweitzer on April 19, 1938, in Firesteel. They made their home in Timber Lake until the early 1970s. They then moved to Wyoming for some time before moving to Iowa. In 1985 they returned to Timber Lake where she remained until she moved to Pierre in 2002.
Pauline enjoyed crocheting, circle award, playing the mandolin, violin, piano, organ and accordion. Her favorite pastime was dancing with her husband. When they would dance, everyone would get off the floor because they were so good.
Pauline is survived by her children, John (Pat) Schweitzer of Spendora, Texas, Mary (Bill) Regynski of Pierre, Dorothy Herrell of Ava, Mo., David (Gloria) Schweitzer of Pierre, Frank (Linda) Schweitzer of Boise, Idaho, Paulette (John) Schweitzer of Webster, and Tim (Barb) Schweitzer of Augusta, Kan.; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John, parents Guy Cousins and Jergen and Alice Olson, son Larry, grandsons Larry and Devon, sister Blanch Reum, and brothers Dick Cousins and Herb Cousins.
