Demolition derby fans will have plenty of local drivers to cheer for at the Mobridge Demolition Derby on Saturday.
The 4-person/4-car team derby will feature seven drivers from Mobridge, along with drivers from Glenham, Mound City and Bowdle among the nine teams.
Rockin’ the Beer Gut is Mobridge drivers Josh Fischer, Aaron Fischer, Wade Sandland and Darin Kessler.
The Crazies are Derrick Orth and Matt Feiock of Mobridge, along with Pat Feiock of Pierre and Chuck Brown of Winner.
Almost Heroes is Brandon Carlson of Mobridge, Gilbert Mickelson of Mound City, Adam Fiedler of Glenham and Nick Fiedler of Spearfish.
Team Ram Rod is Bowdle and Roscoe drivers Nathan Rohrbach, Dyllan Rohrbach, Ryan Schlechter and Josh Wir.
Team Heavy Impact has Mike Duenwald of Hoven, Ryan Sandve of Tolstoy and Aberdeen drivers Jeremy Timm and Chris Jung.
The defending champs are back. Team Black and Maroon is Jeff Swanson of Aberdeen, Shay Walden and Dukey Skroch of Cogswell, N.D., and new driver Zack Ponser of Anamoose, N.D.
Saving Second Base comes west with Mike McCreary of Webster, Joe Lehman of Aberdeen, Randy Rasmussen of Mitchell and Mobridge native Aaron Roesler of Wessington Springs.
Two more teams from North Dakota will be competing. Team Blue is Boar Christensen and Cody Kotteer of Lamour, Eric Fuher of Ellendale and Bret Stringer of Lincoln. Team White and Red is Nic Geiger of Mandan, Josh Ketterling of Lincoln, Kyle Wetzel of Williston and Jeremy Guthmiller of Jamestown.
The derby will be at its usual home, the Mobridge Rodeo Grounds. Metal starts pounding at 5 p.m.
