Alyssa Droog of Mobridge is soaring high in the North Dakota Motocross Association circuit this season. She leads all riders in the 250 C and Open C classes.

Mobridge motocross racer Alyssa Droog is back at it, having another successful season racing in the North Dakota Motocross Association.
Droog is racing against the guys in the 250 C and Open C classes. She leads the season standings in both classes. Droog has rung up 360 points in 250 C. She leads Tanner Theis of New Rockford, N.D., by three points. Also racing in 250 C are Winston Gunville and Ernest Lafferty of Eagle Butte. Gunville is sixth and Lafferty is 14th. The class has 85 riders. She leads Theis by nine points in Open C, 327 to 318. Open C has 72 racers.
Droog has rung up two wins (Jamestown, Bismarck) in Open C. She has nine top 10 and five top five finishes.
She has nine top 10 and eight top five finishes in 250 C, including winning in Dickinson.
There are three events left for Droog and her fellow motocross racers: Aug. 10 and 11 in Jamestown; Sept. 7 and 8 in Bismarck; and Sept. 21 in Jamestown.
Droog raced at the Spring Creek Motocross in Millville, Minn., on July 26. Racing in the women’s class against riders from South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska, Iowa and Canada, she placed fifth in both classes.
She, along with her parents Barb and Kerry, stayed for the second day to watch the professional racers.
Droog enjoyed the experience and plans to make the trip again next year, but first things first, there are guys to beat on the North Dakota circuit.
