37th Art Show set for April 14-15

By Peg Wunder

“Changes had to be made,” said Peg Wunder, chairman of the Mobridge Artist Association, “After 36 years the (Mobridge Art) show has grown, especially the photography section, making it necessary to do things differently.”

This year artists and photographers will be limited to six entries. The fee will be $7 for the first entry and $2 for each additional entry.

Setting up such a large show also required a change. This year the drop-off day for the artwork and photography will be Thursday, April l2, from noon until 5:30 p.m. at Scherr-Howe Event Center. This will allow for more time to set up and get the show judged by Saturday noon when it opens to the public.

Categories remain the same as in previous years with oil, acrylic, watercolor, drawing, pastel, fiber art, sculpture/ceramics, mixed media, photography, and computer altered photography.

There are two adult divisions; amateur and advanced (those who have been consistent blue ribbon winners).

The student division is for grades 6 through 12. Students can enter any of the categories.

Judging the artwork this year will be Peter Kilian. Nadya Preszler will be judging the photography. Both are from the art department at Northern State University.
