Randy Rueb cherished time spent with family


Funeral services for Randall “Randy” Rueb, 53, of Herreid, were held Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, at the Herreid Community Center with Rev. Don Hill and Rev. James Comer officiating.Burial was at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge.

Randy passed away Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012, in rural Herreid.

Randall Lee Rueb was born June 11, 1958, to Delbert and Lydia (Kerher) Rueb in Mobridge. Randy attended Herreid High School, graduating in 1976.

After graduation he custom combined with grandpa and dad for a couple years. In 1978 he went to work for Herreid Concrete until 2000. In 2001 he purchased a manure hauling business, which he was operating at the time of his death.

He enjoyed traveling, hunting and motorcycle riding with friends. He also cherished the time he could spend with, and spoil, his nieces and nephews.

Randy spent several winters doing mission work in Arizona. He was very instrumental in helping in Hillcrest butchering for many years. He attended Assembly of God Church, and as a teenager accepted the Lord and was baptized.

Randy is survived by his parents, Delbert and Lydia Rueb of Herreid; siblings, Dean (Norma) Rueb of Buffalo, Wyo., Dale (Colleen) Rueb of Herreid, Mary (Dwayne) Goodale of Watervliet, Mich., Rollin (Charlotte) Rueb of Herreid, and Paul (Bonnie) Rueb of Selby; and 10 nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Carl and Lydia Rueb; maternal grandparents, Gottlieb and Christine Kerher; and one sister, Patricia, in 1954.

Casket bearers were Dustin Rueb, Jesse Rueb, Keith Fjheldheim, Dick Volzke, Willis Van Heukelom, Stan Bauer, Terry Bauer, Rick Delzer and Clinton Kost.

Honorary bearers were Larry Fjeldheim, Steve Engel, Jake Kirschman and Heath Bermel, along with Randy’s nieces and nephews: Shannon Rueb, Haley Rueb, Debby Wherry, Brian Wherry, Kobe Wherry, Jared Wherry, Mindi Rueb, Rachel Rueb, Eric Rueb, Tabitha Goodale, Elianna Spires, Joshua Goodale, Krystahl Goodale, Jadyen Goodale, James Rueb, Timothy Rueb, Steven Rueb and Kari Rueb.
