The Mobridge-Pollock Lady Tigers took on a team of Tigers from West River at home on Thursday and beat them. On Monday they went on the road to play a team of Tigers from East River and beat them, too.
The fifth-ranked Lady Tigers raised their record to 12-2 with a 3-1 win over Ipswich in Ipswich on Monday.
Mobridge-Pollock got better as the night went on. Ipswich won the opener 25-21. The Lady Tigers came back to win 25-23, then opened the gap with a 25-19 win before widening it even more to close out the match with a 25-15 win.
“We were slow getting going. We played sporadic in the first set,” said Coach Keri Bolduan. “In sets two, three and four we were much better.”
Middle hitters Kayleigh Henderson and Kylee Wagner combined for 67 of 76 hitting with 23 kills.
“Our middle hitters were hot and we were feeding them,” said Bolduan.
The Lady Tigers also ripped off 14 aces. Becca Martin was 18 of 18 with five aces. Aundrea Kramer was 22 of 23 with four aces and Ellie Rabenberg added two aces.
“Our serving was a lot better,” said Bolduan. “We had some errors, but we want them serving aggressive.”
Martin added to her night by setting 129 of 130 with 28 assists.
Defensively, the Lady Tigers chalked up 55 digs and 11 blocks. Maranda Wagner had 25 digs and Kramer had 14. Henderson led up front with seven blocks. Chelsy Hoffman added three.
Ansley Sargent and Tara Heinz combined for 27 of Ipswich’s 33 kills. Sargent had a match-high 16 kills. Taylor Petersen had 28 assists and two aces.
McIntosh
The Lady Tigers hosted McIntosh on Thursday, beating the West River Tigers for the second time this season.
Mobridge-Pollock handled McIntosh 25-12, 25-14, 25-19.
The offense was balanced with Rabenberg and Henderson putting down eight kills each and Kylee Wagner adding six.
The servers riddled McIntosh with 16 aces. Henderson and Rabenberg had four each, while Kramer had three.
Martin was perfect on 82 sets with 25 assists.
Maranda Wagner was the only defender in double digits in digs with 24.

Lemmon
The Lady Tigers host the Lemmon Cowgirls on Thursday with the first game starting at 6:30 p.m.
The Cowgirls upset the Lady Tigers 3-2 in Lemmon last season, coming from behind to win the tiebreaker 15-12.
The Lady Tigers are 38-12-1 all-time against Lemmon in one of the longest running rivalries in Mobridge history. The teams began playing in 1989. The Lady Tigers have won 12 of the last 14 meetings.
On Saturday, the girls head to Miller for the Central South Dakota Conference Tournament. The Lady Tigers finished third last season. Since its inception during the 2001-02 season, the Lady Tigers have never won the CSDC tournament title.
The Lady Tigers return to Mobridge-Pollock High School Gymnasium on Tuesday to host Cheyenne-Eagle Butte
The Lady Tigers-Braves series has been one-sided since the teams began playing during the 1993-94 season. The Lady Tigers have won the last nine meetings and hold a 42-4-1 record all-time, including winning 3-0 in the regular season and 3-0 in the district last season.
