Two arrested for DUI from one accident

Two women were arrested for DUI in connection with a one-vehicle accident on Water Plant Road near the rifle range early Saturday, Nov. 16.
According to the South Dakota Highway Patrol, two troopers responded to an accident just after 12:30 a.m. after a witness called 911 to report a pickup had gone off of the road on the east side of the point and went down an embankment.
Grace LaFramboise, 21, of McLaughlin, and Chelsea Taken Alive, 21, of Mobridge, were both arrested for DUI when it was determined Taken Alive was driving at the time of the crash, but LaFramboise was behind the wheel of the 1995 Chevrolet pickup when law officers arrived.
According to the police report, a witness reported the vehicle being driven recklessly on the gravel of the point before leaving the road, going into the ditch and over an embankment.
Both women were transported to Mobridge Regional Hospital by the Mobridge Ambulance Service, were treated for minor injuries and released.
LaFrambiose was charged with DUI second offense and Taken Alive with DUI.
Troopers Joel Carda and T. J. Serr investigated the accident with assistance from the Mobridge Police Department, the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office and emergency services.
