Deputy finds hashish during traffic stop

A Walworth County deputy arrested a North Dakota resident for possession of hashish, after a traffic stop near Mobridge.

On Friday, Nov. 15, deputy Shawn Fox stopped a vehicle driven by Desirae Beauclair, 25, of Davenport, N.D., and noticed during his conversation with the driver indicators of drug activity. He requested assistance from Corson County Deputy Mike Varilek and the drug detection dog.

According to Walworth County State’s Attorney Jamie Hare, the dog indicated on the vehicle, Fox obtained a search warrant and arrested Beauclair on misdemeanor and felony drug charges.

Beauclair posted bond and was released.

She is due to appear in Fifth Circuit Court on Monday, Dec. 16.
