Sully Buttes too much for MP Lady Tigers

Class B’s number one team proved to tough to tangle with for the Lady Tigers on Tuesday. The Sully Buttes Chargers raced past Mobridge-Pollock 93-27 at Mobridge-Pollock High School Gymnasium.
The Chargers opened the game on a 9-0 run and never looked back, jumping out to a 20-point, 26-6 lead after one quarter.
Remi Wientjes scored the first nine points of the second quarter before the rest of the team got into the action, building an insurmountable 50-8 lead at the intermission.
Taylor Brekke scored five points in the third quarter helping the Lady Tigers put some points on the scoreboard, but the Chargers still built their lead to 75-15 by the end of the third quarter.
Chelsy Hoffman and Alexa Schaefbauer scored four points each in the fourth quarter as the Lady Tigers scored 12 points, their only double-digit scoring quarter of the night.
Brekke finished with a team-leading seven points. Hoffman scored six and Schaefbauer scored four.
Remi Wientjes led Sully Buttes with 27 points, including 17 in the first half. She added a game-high six rebounds. Deidre Lamb scored 15 points, while Karlea Stahl and Raquel Wientjes scored 12 points each.

Doubleheaders
The Lady Tigers will join the Tigers for a pair of doubleheaders this weekend, hosting Miller on Friday and playing at Groton on Saturday.
The Lady Tigers and Rustlers will be meeting for the 42nd time on Friday. Since meeting for the first time in 1977, Miller owns a 25-15 lead in the series and has won the last three contests. The Rustlers beat the Lady Tigers 48-36 in Miller last season.
The Rustlers are off to a rough start this season. They are 1-4 with their lone win over Northwestern.
The Lady Tigers will be playing Groton for the 31st time on Saturday. The teams have been going at it since 1984. Groton beat the Lady Tigers 57-20 last season to stop a three-game winning streak, but the Lady Tigers still hold a 16-14 edge in the all-time series. Groton Area is hot out of the box this season with a 6-1 record. Their only loss was to Ethan in overtime at the Parkston Classic.
