Andrea Murri gets deep for a takedown in an 8-4 win over Matthew Skjoldal of Lemmon-McIntosh at the Mobridge-Pollock Quadrangular on Tuesday.

The Tigers polished off a big week by sweeping three teams at the Mobridge-Pollock Quadrangular on Tuesday.
The biggest win on the night was a 37-36 win over Stanley County that was not decided until a criteria decision. When the wrestling concluded, the teams were all knotted up at 36-36, but the referee awarded the Tigers the winning point based on a Stanley County wrestler receiving an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.
The Tigers defeated Lemmon-McIntosh 48-23 and Ipswich-Leola 72-4 in the first two rounds.
“I’m real proud of the guys,” said coach Spencer Novotny, noting that his wrestlers were there to pick each other up when things went wrong all evening.
“There were some matches where we knew the kids weren’t going to do well and we had a couple of guys mess up,” said Novotny, “but the other kids made up for it. They all stepped up and wrestled well.”
The Tigers took a 21-6 lead over Stanley County after Jaden Shepherd won in overtime and Isaac Olson, Jaden Madison and Nathan Bauer had back-to-back-to-back pins. Stanley County came back with five straight wins to take a 33-21 lead. The Tigers tied the match at 33-33 with forfeit wins, setting up the final two matches. The Tigers took a 36-33 lead when Chase Schoenhard defeated Herman Fennell III 3-0, only to have Cade Larson of Stanley County defeat Brett Lang 5-0 and square match.
The matches won total was close but the score was not when the Tigers squared off against and beat Lemmon-McIntosh 48-23. The Tigers won four matches, while the Cowboys won five. A host of forfeits proved to be the difference. David Jensen won a technical fall over Braydon Peterson and Schoenhard pinned Garrett Clark with Andrea Murri and Shepherd winning decisions. Dirk Wolf, Bleau Hoge, Brandon Peterson, Duell Tomac and Brody Peterson won for the Cowboys.
The Tigers won four of five matches wrestled in walking away from Ipswich-Leola. This being the only home date of the season, Novotny allowed the Tigers to accept forfeit wins at eight weight classes. Justin Nobles, Stone Jensen, Shepherd and Bauer all pinned their opponents. Alex Marsh was the only winner for Ipswich-Leola.
In the other matches, Stanley County defeated Lemmon-McIntosh 39-30 and Ipswich-Leola 47-10, while Lemmon-McIntosh defeated Ipswich-Leola 42-15.
The Tigers will have another busy week with three dates in six days. The team will head north for the Linton Quadrangular on Thursday, compete in the Winner Invitational on Saturday and square off at the Lemmon Quadrangular on Tuesday.
