Battlers beat Wolverines in overtime

Potter County outlasted Herreid-Selby Area to win the Yellowstone Trail Conference Tournament title in Bowdle on Saturday. The Battlers defeated the Wolverines 72-61 in overtime.
The game was a head-knocker all the way with the teams ending regulation tied at 55-55. Potter County took over in the extra session with a 17-6 run.
Dakota Thorstenson led Herreid-Selby Area with an 18-point, 19-rebound double-double. Karsten Goehring scored 15 points and Brady Vander Vorst scored nine.
The Battlers had balance on top with Tanner Heuer and Caleb Meinke scoring 18 points each and Chayce Hall scoring 17.
The game had 54 fouls and 59 free throws. The Wolverines were 20 of 27 from the charity stripe, while the Battlers were 20 of 32.
