Richard May

Richard Allen May, 60 of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away on Dec. 26, 2013, of heart problems.
Rich was born in Pierre on May 1, 1953, to James Vernon May and Lillian Ruth May.
Rich spend 40 years in the florist business and loved his work. His other passion was raising and showing his exotic birds all over the United States. He was very proud of his prized German Roller Canaries. They won the national championship two years in a row in 2012 and 2013.
Rich’s breeding stock (200 birds) was donated to other members of the Central States Roller Canary Breeders Assoc-iation so that his name will live on in history.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Vernon May; mother, Lillian Ruth Reimer; brother, Charles May; and sister, Mary Ann Reimer.
Rich is terribly missed by his brother, Vern May and his wife Bonita of Mobridge, and their daughters, Tanya Kraft of Mobridge, Molly Vetter of Aberdeen, Krystal Magee of Sioux Falls and Melissa May of Vermillion; his sister, Lois Greger of Mobridge and her sons, Matt and Leo, and daughter, Jamie Perman of Glenham; and his brother, Robert W. May of Azle, Texas.
A spring service will be held in Mobridge with food and a chance to share your memories with the family.
