Tom Collignon, District Commissioner of the Five Rivers District of the Sioux Council, presented the one-year charter to Harley Overseth, current Rotary president, on Monday, March 17, when Rotary met.
Tom is the Rotary representative to Troop 65 here in Mobridge. The charter recognizes the partnership between Troop 65 and Mobridge Rotary. Mobridge Rotary is responsible for approving the leaderships of our local troop. The charter is for one year. Two scouts are presently working on becoming Eagle Scouts. Over the years 23 scouts have attained that honor here in Mobridge.
Haden Merkel, executive director of the Chamber of Commerce presented the gift basket that was donated by Grand River Casino for our annual foundation prize to be awarded at the Pets Conference in April. Rotarians expressed their appreciation for the generosity of Grand River Casino.
This year the drawing of the NCAA teams for the people who had paid in took some time as 141 paid this year to be part of the Final Four.
John Badgley was present to claim the 50/50 pot. Rotary will meet on Monday at noon at the Moose Club.
