Robert Lee Jilek, 73, passed away March 4, 2014, of congestive heart failure, at Puyallup, Wash.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 10, 2014, at Powers Funeral Home in Sumner. Interment was at Sumner City Cemetery.
Robert was born Feb. 8, 1941, in Mobridge and lived on a farm nine and a half miles north of Glenham with his parents and siblings. He attended Wayside School and graduated from Glenham High School. He was confirmed and baptized at Norway Lutheran Church.
Robert married Shari Swift of Glenham and they moved to Seattle, Wash. They had three children, Bambi, Tracy and Koree. After Shari’s passing, Robert continued to raise their three small children.
In 1994 he married Toni Hinton, who had children, Patrick and Christine. Robert and Toni made their home in Lake Tapps, Wash.
Robert worked for Boeing for 37 years as manager and second level general manager, where he received many rewards. He retired from Boeing in 1999.
Robert loved to play golf, travel and go boating with Toni. He loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Toni; his children, Bambi Jilek, Tracy (Mary) Jilek and Koree Jilek; two step-children, Patrick Hinton and Christine (Brent) Monroe; and nine grandchildren, all of Washington. He is also survived by three siblings, Mary Ann (Ron) Chasteen of California, Geraldine (Wayne) Gunderson of Pennsylvania, and Glen (Judy) Jilek of Arizona; one aunt and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shari; parents, George and Myrtle (Lee) Jilek; sister, Donna Williams; grandparents, one uncle and one aunt.
