39th Mobridge Area Art Show opens Saturday

The 39th Annual Mobridge Area Art Show is April 26 and 27 at Scherr-Howe Event Center in Mobridge.
The show is open from noon to 5 p.m. both days. Adult and student work will be judged, and special exhibitors will have non-judged display booths. There is no admission charge but donations will be accepted.
More than 400 pieces are entered in the adult and student art and photography divisions. Ribbons and cash prizes are awarded in both divisions. The public will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite artwork and photography for the People’s Choice Awards.
Three organizations will choose their favorite student entry and give cash awards. They are Oahe Area Retired Teachers Association, P.E.O Chapter H of Mobridge, and Arts and Travel Club.
Judges for the show are Sam Coleman and Ken Yetter, both of Bismarck.
The special exhibitors are Daron Krueger of Sioux Falls, a member of the “Obsessed Photographers Group.” His limited edition prints of the Midwest will be for sale both days.
Former Mobridge residents Mick Harrison and his daughter Jamie will exhibit and sell their works. Del Iron Cloud of Rapid City will display his works and also give demonstrations both days.
Brenda Kuckelburg of Aberdeen will exhibit and sell pottery. Her work is also on display at The Art Bank in Mobridge.
Teri McTighe of Faith will exhibit her paintings and drawings and also demonstrate on both days.
Mary Lou Landis of Mobridge will exhibit her artwork in various mediums along with her hand-made bead jewelry.
Kathy Nelson of Timber Lake will be available both days to explain the art project for the Timber Lake and Area Museum.
