Helena Bones

Helena Bones, 89, a longtime resident of Stayton, Ore., and recently of Ashland, Ore., passed away peacefully on the evening of April 14, 2014.
She had battled with Alzheimer’s the past couple of years and the family would like to thank the staff at Skylark Care Center for their care.
Helena was born on August 13, 1924, in Glencross to Balthasar and Theresa Reisz.
She was married to Hubert Kieth Bones Sr. and they moved to Stayton in the summer of 1965. It was there that they raised their family. Hubert passed away at an early age leaving Helena to raise their three boys, Hubert Kieth Jr., Barry and Louie. During the 43 years that Helena and her family lived in Stayton, she really enjoyed watching and following the local sports teams, which included watching her three boys while they attended Stayton Union High School (Go Eagles). She also had fond memories of working at the Stayton Canning Company for many years. She really enjoyed living in her home that was located in the middle of town between two elementary schools. She liked to visit with everybody because people in Stayton were very friendly to her and she to them.
She is survived by her three boys and their spouses, Hubert Kieth Jr. (Karen), Barry (Marsha) and Louie (Azar); her two remaining sisters, Anne Schnetzky and Margaret Lenling; her four grandchildren and spouses, Lindsay (Aaron) Meyer, Aaron (Brittany) Bones, Jennifer Bones and Brian (Victoria) Bones; and three great-grandchildren, Triston, Kylie and Trenton.
Helena will be laid to rest beside her husband, Hubert Kieth Bones, at the National Military Cemetery in Portland, Ore.
