The Lady Tigers warmed up for the postseason, playing at the pre-region meet in Mitchell on Tuesday.
“The mood of a pre-region is less than ideal,” said coach Jason Weisbeck. “Kids are simply playing a meet to play a meet. In the end the girls got a little feel for the course and hopefully will know how to change their games for the region next week.”
Expected favorite Parkston dominated the meet. Along with Sydney Bormann winning medalist honors by nine strokes, Parkston players finished second, fifth and seventh. Parkston shot 532 to win the warm-up meet.
The Lady Tigers, who played without injured Emily Dale, took second place with a 433. Winner shot 433 also, but the Tigers took second on criteria.
Miranda Eisemann led the Lady Tigers with a third-place finish. Eisemann shot 48-46-94. Chelsy Hoffman shot 45-53-98 for sixth and Aundrea Kramer shot 52-52-104 for ninth. Cayla Hintz stepped in for Dale and shot 138.
Dale is expected back to play in the region on Monday.
“Overall our girls really jockeyed positions amongst themselves,” said Weisbeck. “Who knows who will be number one, two, etc., but that is fine with me.”
Weisbeck expects his Lady Tigers to be in the thick of things the next two weeks.
“They truly have a lot of potential and it’s going to be very fun to see what they come up with in the weeks to come,” said Weisbeck. “There is a lot of buzz around the state about Mobridge-Pollock Tiger golf!”

Redfield
The Lady Tigers turned in a strong performance at the Pheasants Invite at Fisher Grove Golf Course in Redfield on Friday.
The Lady Tigers ran away with the team title while shooting four of the top five scores in the five-team field.
Emily Dale won medalist honors with a 41-45-86. Miranda Eisemann was one stroke back in second place with an 87. Aundrea Kramer and Chelsy Hoffman shot matching 95s while finishing fourth and fifth, respectively.
“It was another cool and windy day,” said Weisbeck. “Kind of a weak field, competition wise, but the girls competed well overall and truly dominated. It was fun to get to play a different course.”
Sam Bot of Aberdeen Roncalli was the only golfer who could stop the Lady Tigers from sweeping. She shot 88 for third.
The Lady Tigers had a team total of 363, 36 strokes better than runner-up Aberdeen Roncalli.

With the regular season behind them, the Lady Tigers return to Mitchell on Monday for the Region 3A Golf Tournament.
Looking for the right to compete at the State A Golf Tournament in Spearfish on May 19 and 20, the Lady Tigers will compete against Chamberlain, Cheyenne-Eagle Butte, Crow Creek, Parkston, St. Francis Indian, Todd County, Wagner and Winner.
