Linda Dienert

Funeral services for Linda Dienert, 63, of Mobridge and Pollock, were held Monday, May 19, at Pollock Lutheran Church.
Burial followed at Spring Valley Cemetery, rural Pollock, under the direction of Stout Family Funeral Home of Mobridge.
Linda Mae Dienert was born July 4, 1950, in McLaughlin, to Adam and Lillie (Hauck) Walker. She was raised through the age of six in Selfridge, N.D., before moving with the family to Rapid City. In 1958 the family moved to Mobridge, where she continued her schooling, graduating from Mobridge High School in 1968. During her high school years, Linda worked after school at the school library, and after graduating began working at First National Bank as a teller.
On June 3, 1973, Linda married Ronald Dienert at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mobridge. On Feb. 18, 1974, she gave birth to a daughter, Terri Michelle. She was a very caring mother to Terri and also to Ron’s children, Jason, Sherry and Russ.
Linda helped Ron on the ranch south of Pollock with everything from milking cows to picking rocks. In 1978, they purchased a local bar in Pollock, which they named Ron’s Rendezvous. Linda worked many hours at the bar for the next several years, later working part time at the Fin N’ Feather Bar and as an insurance sales person. She also worked as a customer service representative for the Connection in Mobridge. For the last 10 years she had worked at Grand River Casino as a cashier before her health forced her to retire in November of 2013.
Linda took great pride in her appearance, and was well known for her beautiful nails and jewelry. She enjoyed painting sun catchers, playing solitaire, gardening, embroidery, going to rummage sales with her daughter and spending time with her grandchildren. She and Terri talked on the phone several times a day and were not just mother and daughter, they were best friends. Linda will be remembered as an extremely kind and compassionate person, always more concerned about the needs of others before her own.
Linda had battled stage four lung cancer since being diagnosed in June of 2012. She fought the good fight with all the strength and determination that she had within her. She was called home by her Heavenly Father early in the morning of May 15, 2014, at Strasburg Nursing Home in Strasburg, N.D., surrounded by her family. She is at peace, in no more pain, basking in the awesome presence of her Savior, dancing on streets of gold.
Those left to mourn her passing include her husband, Ronald Dienert of Mobridge; her daughter, Terri (Bob) Volk of Herreid; stepchildren, Jason (Renae) Dienert of Pollock, Sherry Tisaw of Grand Junction, Colo., and Russ Dienert of Minneapolis, Minn.; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a brother, Dale Walker of Mobridge; special friend, Judy Richey; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Lillie; brothers, Clarence and Eugene Walker; and a granddaughter, Crystal Johnson.
