Roger Beranek, 62, of Mobridge, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014, at Mobridge Regional Hospital.
Burial will be in Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge.
Roger Alan Beranek was born Nov. 24, 1951, in McLaughlin, to Ed and Velma (Aman) Beranek. As a boy he lived with his family in McIntosh and Mobridge, graduating from Mobridge High School in 1970.
He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1971 and served during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in October of 1976.
He was an avid sportsman and loved the outdoors. Roger cherished his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
Roger is survived by his daughters, Lindsay Beranek and Chastity Spiry of Mobridge; grandchildren, Casey, Brady and Karlie Spiry of Mobridge, and Morgan Ducheneaux of Sioux Falls; nephew, Justin Miner of Mobridge; sister, Kandy Summers and family of Aberdeen; and brother, Ross Beranek of Mobridge.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Nard Spiry; and nephew, Joey Beranek.
