Teeners lose in a high scoring matchup at regions

The Mobridge Teeners were beaten 17-13 by Big Stone City during the losers-out game at the VFW Teener Regional Baseball Tournament in Milbank on Wednesday.
Big Stone City took an early lead by outscoring Mobridge 8-1 in the first two innings.
Mobridge rallied back with a seven-run second inning. The Teeners took advantage of wild pitching and sent 13 batters to the plate. Mobridge drew seven walks and had a hit-by-pitch wrapped around a pair of base hits by Michael Davis.
After Big Stone City answered with two runs in the top of the third to take a 10-8 lead, Mobridge came right back with three runs in the bottom half.
Nathan Bauer walked and Dylan Cerney singled to start the rally. A two-run single by Noah Fried gave the Teeners an 11-10 lead.
The Teeners took a 13-11 lead in the fifth. Josh Chase and Mason Schoenhard walked before Davis sent the runs home with his third hit of the game.
The Teeners scored no more, but Big Stone City did, rallying to take a 14-13 lead with three runs in the sixth and putting the game away with three more in the seventh.
Davis led the Mobridge offense with three hits, two RBIs and a run scored. Bauer, Cerney and Fried added singles. Chase scored three runs, while Bauer, Cerney and Brady Greger scored two runs each. Greger reached base five times and Chase four, all on walks and hit batsmen.
Elijah Cross led Big Stone City with three hits, including a double and triple, and scored four runs. Austin Kipp added three hits and three runs scored.
