Curtis Huffman takes 15th place at Eugene Marathon
By Jay Davis
Mobridge runner Curtis Huffman had a big day when he finished 15th out of a field of 1,359 runners at the Eugene Marathon in Eugene, Ore., on July 27.
Huffman is pleased with his time of two hours, 37.59 minutes and his high finish.
“There were some pretty elite athletes there,” said Huffman.
He got to finish his race with a half lap at famous Heyward Field on the University of Oregon.
There was a half-marathon being run at the same time. That caused a little confusion in the racing process.
“I didn’t really know where I was at,” said Hoffman, “but I knew my pace was right.”
Wife Casey ran also. She was in the 5K race the previous day and took 184th with a time of 28:54.
The Huffmans have not decided where they will venture next in his mission to run a marathon in all 50 states.
