MPHS squads feted by SDHSAA

The classroom achievements of the Mobridge-Pollock High School athletic and fine arts teams were recognized with the release of the 2011-12 Fall South Dakota High School Activies Association Athletic and Fine Arts Academic Achievement Team Awards.

“Our students and coaches involved in extracurricular activities continually prove that academics come first,” said principal Chris Bohlander.

The Tigers dominated classroom achievement with seven athletic and fines arts teams earning the academic honor. Earning all-state are the girls’ cross country team, football team, football cheerleaders, volleyball team, oral interpretation, all-state chorus and the boys’ golf team.

Area schools were also successful in the classroom.

Cheyenne-Eagle Butte: Girls’ cross country team and volleyball team.

Dupree: Volleyball team.

Herreid: All-state chorus, volleyball team, football team and football cheerleaders.

Selby Area: Volleyball team.

Timber Lake: Girls’ cross country team, football team, boys’ cross country team, volleyball team, football cheerleaders, oral interpretation and all-state chorus.
