Elmer Wacker, 85, passed away on Jan. 12, 2017. Elmer was born on March 7, 1931, to Calvin and Magdalena Wacker on a farm near Trail City. He went to a one-room country school at Trail City and graduated from Mobridge High School.

Three Mobridge wrestlers earned a trip to the medal stand at the 2017 SDWCA (South Dakota Wrestling Coaches Association) State Tournament, held Saturday and Sunday at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center- Ice Arena in Rapid City. Jacob Steiger led the Mobridge contingent, taking fifth place at Cadets 106.
