Care center building to be demolished

The landscape in northeastern Mobridge will look a bit different in the near future as Golden Living LLC officials are planning to demolish the former care center on Fourth Avenue East.
According to a representative for Golden Living, officials are taking bids for the demolition of the building that is located on the 1100 block of Fourth Avenue East. The building was built in 1968, according to the Walworth County Assessor’s Office staff.
The representative said equipment inside the building is currently being donated or sold. Wheelchairs and walkers are being donated and other equipment is being sold to facilities in the area. These facilities are contacted by a representative of the Golden Living and make bids for the equipment. Golden Living officials then decide whether or not the equipment will be sold for at that price.
No further information about the demolition plans is available at this time.
