Commission did not vote to opt out

In this week’s edition of the Tribune, it was reported that the Walworth County Commission voted to opt out of the tax freeze in 2022 in order to raise revenue for the new jail, transport or other needs.

According to Commissioner Rick Cain, a vote to opt out did not happen at the Tuesday meeting.

The vote taken at the time of the discussion was to hire an architect to work on the new project.

We apologize for the error.
