COVID-19 numbers for Tuesday, Sept. 15


The South Dakota Department of Health, Tuesday, Sept. 15, reported the number of positive cases of COVID-19 in the state increased by 195. The number of South Dakotans that have contracted the virus now stands at 16,994.
The number of South Dakotans who have died from COVID-19 stayed steady at 184.
Walworth County dropped by one case from Monday’s report to 69 positive cases in the county, with 46 of those cases reported as recovered. There are now 23 active cases of the virus in the county.
The number of positive COVID-19 cases in Corson County held steady at 75 with 63 recovered. One Corson County resident has been listed in the reported deaths from the virus.
In Dewey County the positive cases was also the same as Monday at 108 with 62 reported as recovered.
The number of Campbell County residents testing positive remained at 5 with 4 of the cases listed as recovered.
In Potter County the number of residents who have tested positive is now at 31, with 20 listed as recovered.
Active cases in the state are reported as 2,386 with 14,424 residents reported as recovered.
The number of negative test results statewide is up to 166,096.
The total of South Dakotans that have been hospitalized with the virus was reported as 1,195, with 133 currently hospitalized.
