Deloris Rieger was motel owner while in Mobridge


Deloris Rieger, 84, of Amarillo, Texas, and formerly of Mobridge, passed away Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at BSA Hospice in Amarillo.
Services will be held in Mobridge in the spring. Her final resting place will be the Trail City Cemetery. Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge is in charge of the arrangements.
Deloris was born June 21, 1929, to Christlieb and Elise Raughett in Alfred, N.D.
She married Albert Rieger on Sept. 11, 1948, and worked hard as a homemaker, rancher, motel owner, school teacher and many other fields of work over her lifetime.
Lovingly known as “Mimi” to her children and grandchildren, she had a beautiful heart and tremendous love for her family. She would spend hours telling anyone that would listen about them.
She lived many years with her family in Mobridge and Blackhawk, then moved to Amarillo in 1990.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert, and a daughter, Linda.
Survivors include two daughters, Peggy Reed of Amarillo and LeAnn (Mark) Sorrels of Amarillo; a son, Brent Rieger of Amarillo; two sisters, Judy and Carol of South Dakota; a brother, Roger of Florida; grandchildren, Stacey (Jacob) Thompson, Georgia (Chris) Patton, Chris and Ciana Sorrels; and great-grandchildren, Aden and Ian Thompson and Sydney and Olivia Patton.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to her caregivers and BSA Hospice and suggests memorial to BSA Hospice in lieu of flowers.
