Denny Palmer Memorial hits Lake Oahe on Saturday

The Mobridge Chamber’s third annual Denny Palmer Memorial Walleye Classic sponsored by the Mobridge Tourism Committee is set for Saturday at Indian Creek Marina and all over Lake Oahe.
This year’s tourney will feature more than $9,000 in prize money (based on 100 teams) and more than $6,000 worth of prizes to be given away to contestants.
The rules meeting will be Friday at Scherr-Howe Events Center, with social hour starting at 6 p.m. and the rules meeting at 8 p.m.
Saturday will have the launch and weigh-ins at Indian Creek. The anglers will leave at 8 a.m. and must be back by 4 p.m. Weigh-ins will start when the first boats come back to shore. The earliest anglers can weigh in is 2:30 p.m.
State regulations will apply for the anglers. Each team will be able to weigh up to six fish. Two fish can be longer than 20 inches. There is a 14-inch minimum. There will be no culling or sorting allowed.
Teams will be able to keep their fish. They will be responsible for their own cleaning, packaging, storing and transportation of their fish. Teams can be two or three-person.
