Michael Kuehl’s life’s work was driving truck

Michael O. Kuehl, 63, of Selby, died Thursday, July 25, 2019, at Sanford Health in Bismarck, N.D.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, July 31, 2019, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Selby with Father Thomas Clement, Celebrant.
Interment was at Selby Memorial Gardens under the direction of Lien Funeral Home of Bowdle.
Michael Orvil Kuehl, son of Lucille (Aberle) and Orvil Kuehl, was born on July 4, 1956, in Mobridge. He was brought up in Selby. His formal education consisted of Selby Public School (Class of 1975) and Minnesota West Community and Technical College in Pipestone, Minn., where he learned meat cutting.
After working in that field for a couple of years he began his life’s work of driving truck. He drove for various businesses and lived in Rapid City for the most years. Mike incurred a back injury seven years ago. The disability kept him from driving, and he moved back to Selby where he lived the rest of his life.
Michal is survived by his parents, Orvil and Lucille of Selby; one son, Erick Wright of Sioux Falls; one brother, Llewelyn (Lynnette) Kuehl of Mobridge; and three sisters, Bridgette (Chuck) Witte of Aberdeen, Brenda (Allen) Begeman of Woodbury, Minn., and Melissa (David) Kibelkis of Peotone, Ill.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Patrick.
