Mobridge resident injured in accident

A Mobridge resident was injured in a two-vehicle accident on North Main Street, Thursday, May 13, which sent him to the hospital.
According to the police report, Caelan McCollam, 18, of Mobridge was northbound on Second Avenue West in a 1998 Jeep Wrangler when the vehicle was struck on the driver’s side by an eastbound 2007 GMC Denali driven by Skylar Sartorius, 26, of Mobridge.
When emergency service personal arrived at the scene, McCollam was unconscious but as members of the Mobridge Fire and Rescue team and Mobridge Ambulance Service were working to remove him from the vehicle, he regained consciousness and exited the passenger’s side of the vehicle on his own.
McCollam was taken to Mobridge Regional Hospital and Clinics to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
There was extensive damage to both vehicles involved in the accident.
Information on charges and/or citations was not available at press time.
