National association recognizes local group

By Robert Maisch

The Bridge City Coin and Stamp Club held its annual potluck picnic in the city park on Sunday, Aug. 2 with 30 members and guests attending. Listening to attendees’ comments the location and weather were superb and the entrees and desserts were even better.
The club received recently a plaque from the American Numismatic Association (ANA) in recognition of 25 years membership in the national hobby organization.
The club’s next meeting is Thursday at 7 p.m. in the A.H. Brown Public Library community room. Members are reminded that the meeting will be devoted to the appraising and grading of auction lots for the club’s annual show in October. Members should bring their consignments to the meeting.
