A wind chill warning is in effect until 6 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7 with wind chill values approaching -40 to -50. Officials are asking people to stay indoors if possible. If you have to be outside wear many layers including a hat, scarf, gloves, and cover as much skin as possible. Highs today across South Dakota will not be above zero, with -9 forecasted as the high in Mobridge with teens below zero in many places.

Winds will blow out of the northwest at  15 to 25 mph.

Overnight lows will bottom out anywhere from 5 below to 20 below zero at about midnight with temperatures rising throughout the overnight hours into Tuesday.

A southwest wind will bring temperatures into the double digits above zero on Wednesday.

The weekend forecast includes highs near 40, just in time for the Mobridge Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Committee Ice-fishing Tournament.
