There is a new twist to the second annual Mobridge Outdoor Pool Committee fundraiser Dashes For Splashes as a bike-a-thon in memory of Colleen Chesky has been added to the May 16 and 17 event.

Chesky’s friends decided to honor her love for riding her bike through Mobridge by sponsoring the event and purchasing a bike for a raffle. All participants in the bike-a-thon will receive one raffle ticket. Other tickets for a chance at the bike can be purchased at Homespun or Lind’s Hardware.

There is still time to help raise funds for the outdoor swimming pool project by participating in the bike-thon, the kid’s 1K walk/run; the 5K walk/run or the 10K run on the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Trail, along the shores of Lake Oahe. Those wanting to participate any of those events can sign up on Friday until 7 p.m. or for the 10K until 8 a.m. on Saturday.

Participants can pickup their event packets between Friday, May 16 between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on at the Mobridge Chamber of Commerce office on South Main Street.

Also 10k participants can pick up their packets Friday night during this same time.

Those participating in the Kid’s 1K sunset walk/run and the bike-a-thon are asked to be at the site at 7 p.m.

The 10k will start at 8:30 am and those wanting to run can register up to 8 a.m., which is also check in time.
