Mobridge Police returned a child to relatives after the 3-year-old was abducted Thursday, Nov. 15, from a babysitter’s home.

According to Mobridge Chief of Police Justin Jungwirth, at 6:30 p.m. a 911 call reported a woman had entered the home on 300 block of 11th Avenue East and removed the child without permission.

Officers located the woman and child within eight minutes of the call, in the same neighborhood of the abduction.

Jungwirth said the woman and child were familiar with each other. The child was returned to the family uninjured.

The Mobridge woman was charged with kidnapping, burglary and resisting arrest.

Further information about this incident will published in the Nov.21 edition of the Tribune.
