The Mobridge Outdoor Pool Committee has added a new dimension to their Saturday, Aug. 8, Dashes for Splashes run: all colors of the rainbow!
The 5K race will have the addition of a colored powder at different stations during the race. Participants of the race are to expect to covered with color during the event. The color is a powder, which is non-toxic, biodegradable corn starch in several colors. It may stain clothing so runners should wear clothing that they don’t mind having a permanent reminder of the event. Color will be thrown on the runners at multiple stations along the race. Pictures will be taken along the race route.
The committee is also hosting the “Luau on the Oahe” fundraising roasted pork dinner at 5 p.m. on Saturday at Scherr-Howe Event Center. It is a free-will offering event that will also include the South Dakota National Guard inflatables, prizes, bingo, games for kids and raffles for a 21 gauge Browning BPS, a party grill and a home-cooked Italian meal for 10.
The race begins at 9 a.m. with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Wrigley Square. Registration forms are available at the office of the Mobridge Area Chamber of Commerce, on the committee website or at http://www.mobridgeoutdoorcitypool.com.
